Once upon a time in ancient China, there was a clever monkey born from a magical stone. He was strong and very smart, and the other monkeys admired him. They called him the Monkey King. He loved to go on adventures and wanted to be the best at everything.
One day, the Monkey King heard about a magical staff that belonged to the Dragon King of the East Sea. This staff could grow or shrink whenever the Monkey King wanted! Excited, the Monkey King decided to find the Dragon King and get the staff for himself.
When he arrived at the sea, the Monkey King boldly asked the Dragon King for the magical staff. The Dragon King liked the Monkey King’s bravery and gave him the staff. The Monkey King was thrilled! He used it to show off his power to everyone.
But the Monkey King wanted even more power. He decided to learn how to live forever! He traveled to find wise teachers and learned many powerful spells. After a long journey, he finally discovered the secret to becoming immortal.
Feeling very powerful, the Monkey King returned to the Heavenly Palace and demanded to be treated like a god. But the Jade Emperor, who ruled the heavens, was not happy with the Monkey King’s arrogance. He wanted to teach him a lesson.
The Jade Emperor sent soldiers to capture the Monkey King, but he easily defeated them with his magical staff. The Jade Emperor then called for the Buddha to help. The Buddha came to the Monkey King and said, “If you can jump out of my hand, I will grant you anything you desire.”
The Monkey King, feeling very confident, jumped with all his might. But when he landed, he found himself still in the Buddha’s hand! The Buddha smiled and said, “You may be strong, but you need to learn humility.”
The Monkey King was put behind bars trapped under a mountain as a punishment for being too proud. He spent many years there, thinking about his actions. Over time, he learned how important it was to be humble and to respect others.
Finally, a kind monk named Tom came to the mountain and freed the Monkey King. The Monkey King was very grateful for his freedom. He promised to protect Tom on his journey to find sacred scriptures.
From that day on, the Monkey King became a loyal friend and protector, using his strength and cleverness to help others.
Moral: True power is found in humility
